You had me going with the part about systemic racism and white supremacy continuing even if every cop is replaced (that’s what the systemic part means), but you lost me at ‘vote to change it.’ Historic moves toward police abolition are happening right now and it’s not voting that’s doing it! On that note: much gratitude to the Black activists all over the country leading this movement and especially the police & prison abolitionists who were ready to take advantage of this moment.
Also, we don’t need an explanation that specifies “inhumane garbage” in Amerikkka as a causal factor; the inhumanity is also a symptom of white supremacist capitalist settler colonialism. Blaming it on garbage people obscures all our roles upholding an unjust system (and also our responsibility to dismantle it) but it also reeks of some genocidal solution…
