Interesting choice to depict her playing a tenor guitar, a favorite instrument of Neko Case and a few others, but not a popular instrument.
I think it’s supposed to be a bass (nicknamed Janis, according to the book) but the perspective is off or the photo has been manipulated (missing leg and all that…)
