I keep waiting to see confirmation of this from a reputable news source - mostly I’ve just seen this story circulated in a link circle jerk between various Trumpy sites as a kind of “lol CNN sucks” narrative.
I hope this isn’t really true. CNN has been producing top notch documentaries for years now, and they have a pretty good on-air staff going right now without anybody that I can’t tolerate. CNN continues to tout that it’s the world’s most watched news network, sooo ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
