Is Tumblr even still a thing?

Yes. I don’t have an account, but I regularly read Wil Wheaton’s, Neil Gaiman’s (who is actually incredibly active on his), and the Frogman’s tumblrs…

I got this there…

The reason is a real face-palm moment for any programmer:

The reason for this is because Microsoft is using a signed int32 for the date and with the new value of 2.201.010.001 is over the max value of the “long” int being 2.147.483.647.

Every New Year, virtually everyone in Japan makes a pilgrimage to a shrine or temple to pray for good fortune in the new year, in a practice called “初詣” (hatsumode or “first pilgrimage”).

And every major shrine/temple will have Christians standing outside proselytizing with messages of how Jesus Christ offers the only way to eternal life. Keep in mind, less than 1% of Japan is Christian and they only really come out to proselytize at New Year’s.

The yellow sign on the left says, “The day of the Lord’s Judgment is nigh!” and the one on the right says, “Call out to and seek God before it’s too late!”
