No good ones. Sheโ€™s a hard-driving personality, but that was always described in a positive way to me. Sheโ€™s always seemed fairly โ€œnormalโ€ for the spectrum of academic social types. Iโ€™ve never heard anything really negative about her, which is rare in a profession that loves gossip. This is pretty bizarre.

ETA this covers more ground. The allegations of โ€œabusiveโ€ seem way out of character to me. I wonder, at her age, if there arenโ€™t health problems that might cause something like that.

Health problems got her fired? That also seems weird. (And discriminatory.) Why wouldnโ€™t she just say she retired early because of a health issue?

No, no, sorry. I mean that when we see changes in personality in older faculty members (going from being a normally pleasant person to being angry or erratic, for example) health issues is what we think of first. I have no clue whatโ€™s going on here, and I donโ€™t mean to speculate about her situationโ€”just that this is always a concern.
