Interesting to see that in a recent study my hometown of Castlebar has been rated the best town from which to work remote in Ireland.

Maybe I’ll move home again.

Hell, yes!

That’s why I’m officially Irish now. FBR through my grandfather from Ballinamore. Putting in for the passport now too.

Portugal is sounding nice as a retirement place. Even if just for a while. Certainly if the US goes full Nazi. Took three years, because COVID.

I wish I did. Ireland sounds a whole lot nicer than the US

Yep. Got two friends with NZ as their escape plan

Luck of the ancestors. The other 3 wouldn’t work. One doesn’t allow. One only works for me if Scotland leaves Terf Island & one I already had as they’re a colony of the US.

They broke it out into its own segment:

To the zoologist that they interview, Mathias Osvath, they were people. (The pause after ā€œthree-year-oldā€, the way he says ā€œold manā€ā€¦)

So what leisure amenities does it have there? Sligo is no. 10, but it’s got beaches!

Sadly my Irish ancestors are too distant to work for me…

Its well positioned with very walkable trails and bike paths. Those are pretty big draws to the area. Theres a national museum just a few miles from downtown, right off the bike trail. Lots of lakes, forests, and Castlebar isn’t all that far removed from the beaches in Westport. Plenty of fishing, and kayaking is becoming more popular too.
