Interesting to see that in a recent study my hometown of Castlebar has been rated the best town from which to work remote in Ireland.

Maybe Iā€™ll move home again.

Hell, yes!

Thatā€™s why Iā€™m officially Irish now. FBR through my grandfather from Ballinamore. Putting in for the passport now too.

Portugal is sounding nice as a retirement place. Even if just for a while. Certainly if the US goes full Nazi. Took three years, because COVID.

I wish I did. Ireland sounds a whole lot nicer than the US

Yep. Got two friends with NZ as their escape plan

Luck of the ancestors. The other 3 wouldnā€™t work. One doesnā€™t allow. One only works for me if Scotland leaves Terf Island & one I already had as theyā€™re a colony of the US.

They broke it out into its own segment:

To the zoologist that they interview, Mathias Osvath, they were people. (The pause after ā€œthree-year-oldā€, the way he says ā€œold manā€ā€¦)

So what leisure amenities does it have there? Sligo is no. 10, but itā€™s got beaches!

Sadly my Irish ancestors are too distant to work for meā€¦

Its well positioned with very walkable trails and bike paths. Those are pretty big draws to the area. Theres a national museum just a few miles from downtown, right off the bike trail. Lots of lakes, forests, and Castlebar isnā€™t all that far removed from the beaches in Westport. Plenty of fishing, and kayaking is becoming more popular too.
