yeah, new Singers just aren’t like the solid old ones of long ago. i learned to sew from my mum on her mum’s piece of iron that could anchor a decent size boat.
today i much prefer my heavy duty Brother machine. it will sew leatherette to denim and i used to make costumes for the kids and me for comic cons. the top-loading bobbin is much more intuitive to me than those front-loading ones on Singers.
