I’d ignore this guy, but as the chief Silicon Valley VC company, Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) gets to be the gatekeepers of who can enter and play the tech game, and then takes a big cut from the lottery winners. (They also do the initial staffing for startups, which must give them a huge backdoor into the companies.)
These days, two guys in a garage with a hot new idea, but without VC backing, will be an acquisition target long before they can shake anything up. (Especially if they’re not part of the longtermism tech bro club.)
They’ll eventually crash and burn, like the way they blew up their Silicon Valley Bank, due to believing their own PR, but they’ll be taking the rest of us along on that ride.
Meanwhile, most SV tech startups will either be the toys of existing tech billionaires, or run by people screened by a16z for correct thoughts. Joy.
