Pori police break up teen gatherings of up to 100
The Southwestern Finland Police Department issued a sharply worded statement early Monday saying that officers had to disperse rowdy congregations of up to 100 youngsters three nights running over the long Easter weekend.
Police said those involved ranged from under age 15 to over 18, and that fistfights had broken out, apparently with ethnic undertones. According to the statement, âin these large groups there were differences of opinion between people from at least the Middle East and Satakunta,â the region that includes Pori.
The statement went on to label this behaviour as âchildish and stupidâ. It called on parents and guardians to ensure that âat least the younger participantsâ stay away from such situations, adding that âit would not be a waste if slightly older children spent their time in some more useful activityâ.
Perverse, in so many ways.
