One might think this is a comprehensive collection but crazily enough - it’s not even close to what’s out there.
Most of my carabiners are missing from the gallery - totally understandable given manufacturers like to update design and materials every few years.
I do think it gives a good representation of basic designs though. Kudos
See Gary Storrick’s amazing collection of rappel and ascent devices which also includes many carabiners at http://www.verticalmuseum.com/. He says there are so many different types of 'biners that he doesn’t even try for a full listing.

Given the problems with counterfeit carabiners (i.e. they don’t meet basic safety requirements and people have died using them), an online gallery of the real thing could have real life-saving use.
Yes. It’s a problem that is potentially life ending. Scary.
