Pepsi plans to use cubesats to display ads in the night sky

Absolutely, 100%. But note that this sort of absurd bullshit was tried back in the 90’s. Some sort of “space billboard” program. Don’t remember all the details, but the Gov stepped in at some point and put an end to it. (Side note: I remember info on it being much easier to turn up back before ads totally took over Google!!)

The technology is available now though. They could make this happen, and in a way that doesn’t interfere with government airspace. And don’t even get me started on how angry I am that nation states made borders in the fucking sky.

Thanks for the attempt at cheering me up. You’re nice.

Oh, I wasn’t trying to cheer you up. Sorry if I misled. The tech was also available in the 90’s (not precisely the same, I’m sure, though the absurdity of it was the same). I was actually saying that this is probably going to happen at some point given that attempts keep circling back. If fucking sucks.

A series of small rockets at the right speed(well, wrong speed from your standard rocketry perspective, but hey), and you ought to be able to spell it out in morse code as they burn up, but that might be a bit subtle?
