Never thought that highly of Nan Goldin, but she certainly is very important historically so… why not.

Nan Goldin’s The Other Side provided a young transsexual and transgender me in '91 with my first images of transgender people—of many race/ethnicities, and from two countries—in their radiant beauty. The book is prominently displayed in my workplace. I loved the way she wrote about the Boston and NYC drag queens and other trans folks she new, loved and photographed. I had the good fortune to see a gallery show of hers in… ah… '03 I think, in Manhattan. I find her photography, and the way she writes about her relationships to the subjects to have profound integrity.
