I played the card game with my son when he was wee, and I remember Gengar! He’s not as spooky as he wants to be. But I never made the connection before now - is this not incontrovertable proof that Pokemons have souls? Also, it raises the question: what is he the ghost of? Gengar can’t be the ghost of Gengar, that’s like Inception.

I can’t say I noticed when I actually played pokemon but I’ve heard about Lavender town being weird before. Something to do with the music making kids kill themselves, but that appears to be a myth.
