Police officers in Japan regret asking Canadian woman to inspect her bag

so what was your point

@VeronicaConnor s point, as i understand it, was that the canadian woman was distinct from Japanese people because she was white. That’s what i questioned.

that was exactly what @anon87143080 addressed

which you then said was not related to “your point”

you still haven’t told us what your point is

a confusing question is not a point

ethnic japanese are not “white”

everybody knows that including you

I highly recommend tracking down and reading this, which gives some insight into how the Japanese government sought to shape their racial identity, especially after the Russo-Japanese war, as Japan became an imperial power in its own right…

They very much did not identify as white, but rather as POC who hoped to be imperial leaders for the global south.

Maybe if you get unhooked from whatever baggage “white” has in your mind, then maybe translate

It’s amazing how everyone else knew what was meant, though.

If you don’t think there is Japanese racism toward white people, then you have definitely not been paying attention.

This was a classic Archer joke for a reason.

Well, I do have an Irish passport as well as UK (smug mode on), but that’s due to the massive act of national self harm known as Brexit.

Collected over about 10 years of business travel, allied to the fact I never clear out my wallet - until the receipts make it difficult to close . And the dresser drawer currently has cash in about 8 currencies - guessing I’ll never use the roubles again

I really want you to go back there and narrow it down to the guilty card, or combo thereof.
Selfishly curious of me, I know.

I’ve seen someone defeat those things just by walking through them with the stolen items held up in the air above their head.

It’s a good book, and informative about how racism was a globalized issue in the 19th century, and how POC tried to fight back against it, and to use it for their own advantage.
