We’re still camping in Frankenmuth, the tourist area in town has too many people on the weekend so we drove up to Saginaw Bay/Lake Huron and took a 4 mile walk along the shore.

We tried one more time for the comet, we drove away from city lights, it was the clearest of nights, we had everything going for us but nope, no comet.
Beautiful sky and very nice standing at the edge of a cornfield with my wife. If we had some beer and a joint it would have been high school all over again.
@anon67050589, Mr. Muskrat was there for about 45 minutes, it must have taken a dip and cleaned itself off.
This evening the comet was barely visible even with 10x50 binoculars. Oh well, it’ll be back in 80,000 years.
Can’t get a break, we have a big open field with clear skies and I didn’t see a single meteor last night.
