Post your Pet or animal Pics (Part 2)

Those buggers hang out along the highway where we run. They fly alongside and then dive bomb us, they seem to hand us off to the next one as we go.

I think it’s because there are nests somewhere with babies.

He’s the friendliest cat I’ve ever seen. He approaches us already purring and likes to perch on top of our shoulders.

Now we have the full cat spectrum: one anti-social, one slightly indifferent and one who loves human attention.

I don’t know: apparently they are two different species (sub-species?). I was surprised when you used the term “shouldered” so I looked it up. Can’t say that I see a huge difference between them, but they definitely have different Latin classifications.

Those orange bois are very often laid back, people-oriented cats. (Very unlike any of my high strung beasties…)

Vincent is a very handsome kitty. Hope the other two are adjusting well enough.

I have “socialize with everyone, practically a dog in temperment” So friendly.

And “only socializes with my wife and me (when she wants something) but afraid of everyone else”.

Dozy Dog realizing that the hens got a bed replanted with tasty stuff, and that the ground is being prepared for an all-mint bed, for the hens. Meantime, I ran out of food this morning, and couldn’t get more today. She’s thinking about tearing up our agreement about how we treat the hens.

He is indeed. The calico cat is such an energetic and nervous cat. Our tuxedo is a kind of slacker cat.

Oh, what a lovely gato.

He is still adapting to the house as He arrived here just after the Carnaval. Now He is confined to quarters, locked down in our “home office”. The tuxedo cat is pretty curious, but the calico cat is very, very upset. She is always hissing to the closed door.

The pedals are at the same height and side-by-side, so must be motorised. I can’t see any tire treads so ergo elk, it’s a hoverbike.

Bom dia gatinha.

And how are Dulce and the kittens?

They’re doing fine, somewhat. We’re having unseasonably cold weather here in Tijuana, so everyone has been together in one room of the apartment for the last few days. Dulce is warming up to the idea of being an indoor cat, and Ripley is definitely becoming a people pleaser. She likes to cuddle even more than Ruby or Gremlin.

Dulce is still suffering from the same kind of sinus issues that I am, but I am reluctant to give her too much Prednisone. Only 5mg per day, but it helps her breathing somewhat.

ETA: I would like to provide her with a chance to see if there is more I can do for her, but that’s going to require money. I have a new fundraising promo with larger panels available on my art thread, but we’ll have to see how things work out.

Old man had a cold a couple weeks ago, he’s still sneezing a lot but he’s much better, the last week or so our other teenager has been sneezing and stuffed up. They have also had clear runny eyes.

We learned years ago benadryl is safe to give to cats, we use it occasionally to calm down old man because of his thyroid.

The general consensus is 1mg per pound but we usually give a 25mg generic pill to our 10lb cats. My research and talking with our vet says it will help nasal congestion but not do much for an upper respiratory infection.

You could try a half a pill to start and see how it goes BUT…

Don’t take my word for it do your own research and ask your vet. I am not a doctor just a long time multiple cat owner without a money tree to pay for vets every time the cat sneezes…

My wife also runs a really hot shower to really steam up the bathroom and then sticks the cat in there for a while, she found that tip online. She says it helps.

In case you don’t actually need to take a shower, a rice cooker can give you plenty of steam too (that’s what I use for myself).
