Post your Pet or animal Pics (Part 2)

I think this is the bun that was trying to burrow/nest in my strawberries.

The mama bunnies around here (N AL) nest by making a small depression in the ground, lining it with leaves and bunny fluff, and covering up and camouflaging the babies with more plant matter and fluff. They don’t seem to burrow at all.

Here’s a nest we found last summer in my MIL’s flower bed (nest of pine straw and fluff):

(Yes, we lifted the top layer to see the babies. Not cool, I know, but soooo cute.)

They do that here too. Not so much a true burrow. I think I’ve convinced her the raised food bed is a bad spot. It really is! Very exposed and raised 2 ft. So if the little ones fall off, they aren’t getting back home! We have so many better places, including the pile of sticks we arranged. Though maybe there is a rat snake living in there now? Silly bun

The kiskadee was hanging there on the pine branches for a long time. When I finally decided to take a picture, grab the camera, adjust everything, He changed its mind and flew away.

She is the Queen of her domain. She’s been tormenting the mice that have returned.

(On a side note, I wish my neighbor would clean his yard, it’s such a nice piece of property but he just doesn’t care what we have to look at.)

This is currently our oldest cat at 16 years old.

This bear has been his best buddy for most of those years. He was fixed a long long time ago but he still likes to have his way with this bear. The funny thing is no matter where we put the bear he finds it and drags it out into the living room or kitchen and the proceeds to molest it.

I thought he’d given up due to his health but yesterday afternoon I watched him drag teddy bear through the house.

I’ve seen him drag it down the stairs.

UPDATE: Well, it turns out perhaps Mama Kitty isn’t pregnant after all. After a few days of feeding, her belly is no longer distended. On closer inspection, she seems to be suffering from intestinal parasites, so we’re going to the veterinarian this week. :man_shrugging:

Foster kitty looking out a different window:

It’s been a bit nerve wracking. He’s so scrawny, I want to fatten him up. But if I just leave food out for him, he throws up before too long :frowning:
I’ve switched to giving him small servings every hour or two and that seems to be working. Going to learn so much about kitties doing this foster thing!

We saw the regular vet today, everything still points to brain tumor. We have a neurological consultation scheduled next month but it’s unclear what that will accomplish. An MRI costs 3 grand and no matter what they find the outcome is the same so we won’t be going that route. We really just want to make sure we’re doing everything possible to keep the seizures at bay and make sure she’s not in pain.

She is doing really well, last night during a thunder storm she actually sat at the window watching the storm. She has always been afraid and hid from storms, I know that’s the medicine, could be the tumor but either way that is a nice side effect.

On the plus side, the medication is reasonably priced and available at our regular people pharmacy.
