Went over to my mom’s place today and saw this, not sure why it was up there but it seemed really out of place.
Foster kitty had his first vet check up yesterday since I brought him home last Monday. I was stressed bc he’s been vomiting a lot and I was worried he was wasting away in my care, but he’s put on a whole pound (from 4.1 to 5.1 lbs) since I’ve been tending to him! Here he his giving me a little meow.
I got a puzzle feeder/slow feeder and he hasn’t been sick since. Here’s hoping!
It’s always a good sign when they start chatting.
I heard our young cat tell the older one two nights ago about dinner. We have a “word”, an intonation that she uses that mimics me when I call them for dinner, with an established meaning. She used it with the older cat in what sounded like a full sentence…
So free pass old man went from mass destruction at 3:00am to sound asleep a few hours later.
When he gets hungry he tries to wake someone up, if that don’t work he gets up on shelves and starts pushing things over the edge. There is plenty of dry food in various places but he wants treats or wet food.
It’s hard to love him and give him those free passes some days. I did find a replacement online for the vase that belonged to my mother in law and has been out every Easter forever.
What are birds? We just don’t know. (These are blackbirds, male and female.)
Wren:
Male chaffinch pecking for mossy lunch between mating calls. Smart, practical - surely what the ladies (pictured below) are looking for:
Spotted woodpecker (a lesser one, but who’s comparing):
It was a productive walk in the woods.
Great pics! The wren is so jaunty
I was doing some errands for my mom when I saw this makeshift bee hive. These are native stingless bees that are receiving some attention because of their honey.
The tiny bees snubbed the hive and preferred to build their own house.
Kitty got a souvenir from Disney world
I think they are meant for dogs, but this princess is a big kitty

I was just watching “moon knight” and noticed one of the dogs was doing her impression of the jackal monster during this scene…
Thank goodness someone was thinking about verisimilitude.
How did He enter there?!
