I remember a brave chicken in Key West squawking at cars to stay away from her chicks

I don’t think the cars payed much attention

It seems to be hitting your parts of the country right now. Here in Maine we’re still okay, but according to Project Feeder Watch the finches are getting eye infections so we’re meant to be on the lookout for it. So far, so good.
I will if I have to, but I so don’t want to have to put away the feeders. :crossed_fingers:

We gave in and just made him a bed on top of the laptop. He’s getting older and more tired every day but he’s still happy when he’s up and about.

He goes from deaths door to playing like a kid. None of our cats are allowed outside but today we were working outside and figured he can’t run fast or far so we brought him outside for a little bit today.

He’s all tuckered out and sound asleep.

Didn’t get a picture of them, but we saw some Canada Geese and their little goslings at the pond near our house the other day, driving by. So cute… :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

The white ones are doves, aren´t them?

Yup. There has been a little colony of white doves around for the last couple of years.

They keep saying it’s mostly affecting poultry and waterfowl and song birds should be okay.

Our problem is there are a couple mallards that hang out under our feeder.

We’ve also seen 3 dead swans in the water which is unusual. We see an occasional swan hit by a car and the DNR doesn’t do mass kills out in the open. (don’t get me started on that)

The wife scrubbed all our feeders today with bleach.

Hummingbirds have returned but from what I’ve read they are very low risk because they don’t feed in groups.

We also following all reports here in Michigan.

Last set from his exciting day.

He has hyperthyroidism which gives him an insatiable appetite even though he’s on twice a day medication. No matter how much he eats he doesn’t gain weight.

Lately the problem is he’s really picky so whenever he shows interest in anything he gets to eat it.

Today he decided potato salad and Jell-O with whipped cream was delicious so we let him have at it.
