A very plump hummingbird. He might have just been puffed up, but he also could be getting ready to migrate. I hope he appreciated all the sugar water we fed him all summer.
Seizure kitty went in on Monday for a neurological exam.
Doctor says she hasn’t gotten worse and she hasn’t had a seizure in weeks. He checked her blood to make sure the steroids aren’t wrecking her organs or bringing on diabetes. Nope, he’s happy with how she’s handling the medication.
So it’s anti seizure medicine and steroids for as long as it keeps working. The fact that steroids help points to brain tumor but at least it appears to be growing slowly.
She also handled the 5 hour journey in the carrier really well.
She was zonked out with my wife last night.
Not an animal pic from me, but an unusual animal found in the metro area…
Deer, coyotes, racoons, possums, etc, are regularly seen all over the metro, but I’m not sure I’ve heard reporting of a bear anywhere in the metro area… in Roswell, no less!
Bears wander into the northern Detroit burbs somewhat regularly. Much more exciting is the once every few years appearance of a cougar!
Also… turned out I was wrong… my better half noted that black bears used to show up in that area all the time when he was younger… a friend of his brother’s even shot one once!
So my wife posted these photos on Facebook joking about not being able to sew because kitty wanted to help.
I made a funny comment that maybe 5 people would see about those scissors being able to solve the problem and, boom, Facebook 24 hour ban. Clearly they don’t know me.
But our local Facebook groups are still filled with violence, hate, and racism. Go figure.
Maybe Facebook should reexamine their algorithms.
Parabéns, gatão!
Pretty! And so shiny…recent shed?
One in grayscale the other in sepia!
Probably less than a week, I think…? Took this pic a few days after my daughter went off to college and we became in charge of the sneks…
White squirrel in the back yard today. Photo taken from an upstairs window, through the window screen.
I’ve seen it a couple other times recently (I assume it’s the same one). I’ve seen a few others around the neighborhood over the years. I’ve noticed they’re always alone, never running and playing with other squirrels. I read somewhere once that they have kind of a hard life because the other squirrels shun them.
For our own standard Siamese, I prefer to call him a Derpasaurus Rex. He’s not dumb, but he can be a serious derp machine at times.
I just have a regular old run of the mill cat, and she can be quite dumb at times… keeps messing with millipedes (the kind that stink) when they get in the house… and just a little bit ago… she got stuck on a book bag while trying to climb into it…
