This protect and serve act only serves to bolster and reinforce racist profiling cops claims that they are justified when they beat up, shoot, or kill someone because they felt threatened. This act is so f*****g wrong!

Cops already enjoy an extraordinary array of protections both by law and in practice.
This act is about forcing legislators (the few who actually give a fuck) who want to put curbs on the behavior of violent cops to vote AGAINST it.
Then they get pilloried for being “soft on crime.”

And also: Has anyone noticed that “To Protect and Serve” is pretty much not used as a police department motto anymore? In my city, it’s “We Serve with Pride” because protecting citizens is a lot less important than being proud.
