What happened to the proposals for an international peacekeeping mission? Even though I understand the problems & the bad history of intervention…is there some way to actually help?

What I’ve heard in the news is that the US has been trying to support that effort but with the goal of having some other country officially taking the lead this time, but hasn’t found any countries that are willing to do it. A very messed up situation for sure.
