I hope he learned his lesson…
So the remaining $11,000, plus interest, is a free gift to him for being a nice white criminal instead of one of those scary brown criminals?
What’s criminal are video games that cost thousands of dollars. We should cap these types of transactions to stop whales and the businesses that prey on them.
If you do that, every casino will go underground in a hurry, not unlike the ‘speakeasies’ of the 20s.
MachinZone should donate that money back to library. That is peanuts for them. This should be no way for them to make money.
sigh I’m looking for a game dev job and MachineZone is unfortunately one possibility. Now I just need to decide how flexible my ethics are. -_-

Embezzlement? Those microtransactions aren’t real money. It’s not like I ran off with the cash box; I just allowed… the library to …help me win!
Casinos have a license to rip people off. I prefer to have evil concentrated in a location instead of spread all over the Internet.
These games don’t cost thousands of dollars. These games allow people to spend thousands of dollars. Pretty much the same way you can sink thousands of dollars into many other hobbies from fishing or golf to collecting post stamps.
Not really the same thing.
