lower case epsilon would arguably have the same effect without being, you know, wrong. The compasses are a strange touch.
If you “die inside” when you see it, why do you do it?
Because, as it was, I created a joke enjoyed by millions. Were I to live in your strict constructionist world, this same joke would only be intelligible by 1% of my audience.
