Do people that take courses like this really believe that they’ve mastered a programming language because they completed the course?

Github isn’t asserting anything but just hosting the page. It’s a little like saying that that wordpress is saying whatever is posted on a a given wordpress blog.
One day, we will get a post about a Python course illustrated with a photo of someone coding Python.
Today is not that day.
To be fair, the last section of the course requires that you be able to compress, sanitize, and ingest an input significantly larger than your own head; so feeling like you have a much greater understanding of python isn’t totally unreasonable.
