I recommend not pushing it, but if you do, let us know.
I get it only after I’ve looked at all threads that I’m tracking/watching:
If someone posts on a thread that I’m watching, it will reappear.
If thats the case, maybe I should take it as a cue to put down the phone and put up halloween decorations.
Please post pictures in the fall holiday thread! Thanks!
The related topics is a new test (for logged-in users only) by the Discourse folks. Feel free to offer feedback or suggestions here if you have them. Thanks!
Anyone else seeing some form of this when you click to quote text? I got two versions of this additional thingie:
And/or?
I’m on a laptop using chrome…
It’s particularly weird, times being what they are, that “Share on Twitter” is prioritized as a sharing mechanism.
What type of device are you on and what’s your browser? It seems different depending on those…
I’m on a Windows laptop using Chromium (version 117.x).
Thanks! @orenwolf or @codinghorror - can either of you shed any light on this?
@codinghorror, I’m still seeing the weird broken post number information when I switch between topics. Here’s a screenshot from a few minutes ago:
This was in “Dead Celebrity”, which has 4972 posts, and the one shown is the last of those posts. The positional information shows it at post #2907, though, with a date of July 2021.
This is on an Ubuntu 20.04 system, Firefox 116.0.3.
I don’t know if this is just me, but nothing happens when I click on the user icon on the top toolbar, even when it’s showing a notification of activity.
This is on desktop, I’ve tried Chrome and Firefox. Chrome on mobile works as expected.
Ooh… as part of seeing whether there was some sort of error visible in the JS console, I brought up developer tools, and it worked! When I closed DevTools, it stopped working again… so it looks to be a Heisenbug, which doesn’t show up if you’re looking at it. Those are always extra awesome fun.
Works for me, Desktop Firefox and Chrome, mobile firefox. I’m ad blocked out the wazoo though, don’t know if that changes things.
@orenwolf is this something you are looking into? It’s pretty frustrating when the ad covers the link to the comments on short posts so you have to navigate to the forums to engage on a post.
I have zero to do with ads. Email badad@boingboing.net with details/screenshots so the right folks are made aware - thanks!
Done! Thanks for pointing me to the right place.
Glad this is being addressed. Got fed up enough with it to come here and report it, too, only to find it was already being dealt with only an hour before - yay!
As an additional note, the video becomes properly positioned if the device (tablet, in my case) is rotated to a landscape orientation. Seems to only affect vertical use.
Count me as another hoping this gets fixed soon, thanks!
