Q&A on Non-Moderation Matters (Mechanics, How-To, etc.)

If you meticulously click from left to right you get the desired effect. But if you click somewhere deep in the nested spoilers the revealing is a little unpredictable.

I clicked from left to right and it worked for me. I am a rule follower, I know.

In the Wordle topic I just did a one-word blur hidden under the full-sentence blur. So if you clicked anywhere but that one word, that one word would stay blurred until you clicked that one word. But if you clicked that one word first, it would reveal the whole sentence including that word all at once. Like so:

This is a sentence containing a WORD that is blurred.

I was hoping to really stack them up. Eh, maybe this isn’t as fun a toy as I thought it would be.

Eh, I’ve enjoyed the last 10 seconds.

I do like the increasing blur effect

Yeah! I had nested it from the center out, and then was disappointed at first, thinking that it didn’t stack, because the reveal didn’t work in the reverse of the way I built it. But it is a stack, just that it stacks from left to right, not from the center out. Now I get what it’s doing

This is without a doubt one of the best Internet forum platforms I’ve seen in more than 25 years on the Internet. I’ve never seen this much thought put into supporting moderation and combatting tr0lls in order to encourage community and dialogue. Echoing @MrShiv’s thanks to you and the rest of the Discourse team.

If you’re still reading, is there a way to export a Topic’s entire contents? I’ve tried the “raw” method described here but no luck yet.

I deeply appreciate everyone’s kind comments, and one might say “the discourse”, very much – but do not have the mental bandwidth to do a whole lot else at the moment due to comorbidities that are difficult to explain. My apologies.

No worries. Thanks again to you and the team.

Let me add my thanks.

I also want you to know that the tech/website developer at our company got seriously starstruck when I once mentioned that you sometimes roam the halls of Boing Boing and engage with us. You’re a rock star in his eyes, and in mine as well! Take care, Jeff.

I would like to send big :hugs: from the entire team at Discourse.

Many features that Discourse have were born out of ideas that popped up here in the early days. We also fixed so many bugs thanks to the excellent reports here.

I love that so many of you enjoy using Discourse daily. It means so much to me.

Big thanks to @beschizza and @orenwolf

Will miss you all… I still dig up some of the old topics here which were so fun.
