Is there something about Republicans gutting infrastructure, destroying jobs, eliminating worker protections, and grinding economies to a halt that makes people love them and want to vote for more of them? Is it one of those abusive relationship kind of deals?

Aren’t there multiple reasons, with varying levels of self-delusion, self-awareness, and multi-level bigotry involved depending on which people we’re talking about?
Isn’t repeatedly and blatantly screwing over 99% of the public for the benefit of less than 1% a longstanding truly bipartisan effort, which the Republicans have been leading ever since Reagan?
I certainly can’t think of one, but is there any other way to characterize this than an abusive relationship?
