Fortunately for us in the US, the Eurovision contest, like the World Cup, is something we can mostly ignore. I saw this year’s UK contestants on the Graham Norton show a few days ago, and they were pretty hokey - some weird 40’s/pop hybrid. Kind of like if Squirrel Nut Zippers decided to hedge their bets by adding in some 70s pop music. Not a pleasant mix.

Being from North America, I guess I just don’t understand. Lame.
I came here to say exactly that. This year I’m thrilled that Australia gets to compete.
