I commented on the Q&A thread before I saw this one, and got two likes and a sob. What does the sob mean? Sympathy for me? A sarcastic comment that I’m a whiny little *****? A sneer about being too old to handle change?
It looks as if every comment is now a poll, the results of which we must try and decipher.
Will you take requests from us, oh great one?
I’m not really a fan of this.
I’ll put a “like” on a horrible story of a ten-year-old murdering his teacher only because it has been brought to my attention, not because I actually like it.
At the risk of being labelled old-fashioned - if it ain’t broke…
I know I already used and a lot
But of course! But I warn thee, a custom Mindysan emoji is not (yet) part of UTF-8, so I cannot accommodate such a request as appropriate as it may otherwise be!
is probably a good one. Let’s see how they are (or are not) used first, though? I don’t want to cause decision overload with a bazillion options either.
Thank you for the new feature. Will probably just keep using however. Which could mean any of,
“Well said”
“My sentiments exactly”
“That’s a really good idea”
“I understood that reference”
“I acknowledge your clever pun”
“Learned something new, thanks”
“Sounds like something I would do”
I liked @anon67050589’s suggestion of a thumbs up… and the cussing emoji… maybe some pets?
Sure! And if that works for you, feel free to continue doing so! For me, putting a on a story like that just feels… icky, and I’m sure I’m not alone there.
is not currently on the list either
That would be one for the ‘anger’ emoji, and I’d use that rather than a heart.
ETA:…a ‘sob’ one would be another good one for that sort of story.
…don’t murder it?
It has always felt icky for me putting a heart on a horrible story.
It is what I have become used to here.
I will endeavour to embrace the new change.
Perhaps a simple check mark noting acknowledgment? Or an X.
Dunno, I’m now forced to click twice to acknowledge my “Like” but also make a choice on how to react.
The workload has doubled!!
Drink lots of water.
