Non-profits evolved from the elites’ foundations I.e. Rockefeller Vanderbilt Carnegie etc, very much a product of capitalism.
Edited to note this is long an exercise in self-flagellation (some are sincere sure) and a good way to give the fam a paycheck for non-existent “administrative duties”
