My oldest wasn’t impressed by Pulp Fiction when she finally saw it. I guess there are some things that have to be totally new to a person in order to appreciate them, and enough of it had diffused into the culture and other films that it lacked the “wow” factor it had when I first saw it. That, or I’m confused about how good Pulp Fiction is.

Maybe so, but the point is, if you go to the megaplex and you think you’re seeing more sequels and remakes and franchise films on the marquee than you used to, you’re not imagining it, you are.

True, but that’s not even necessarily about remakes at all, but simply what kinds of movies just aren’t making it to theaters anymore, which is a separate issue. Collectively those issues make a big impact on what you’re seeing on screens though, as you say.

Yes. I thought it was fine, but I certainly never saw it as some masterpiece. Same with Kill Bill. I was bored enough by the end of the first one to never watch the second.
