Richard Dawkins wishes he'd named his "The Selfish Gene" book "The Immortal Gene" instead

I wish he’d named it that too, since the idea that genes are somehow selfish is an absurdity that made its way into popular culture thanks to his book.

Why is it an absurdity? Don’t tell me that you still believe that organisms are the primary unit of selection?
