Route 66, America's historic highway, to be rehabbed

Sometime in 1980ish in high school we were a tad drunk and high and thought mile marker 69 would be a fun trophy, someone beat us to it. I still have mile marker 96 buried in my garage because we were drunk and high and we weren’t going home empty handed.

We also stole all the pins/flags off an exclusive golf course one night. We were drunk and bored a lot.

Before it was renamed Fugging, the Austrian village of Fucking resorted to installing “theft-resistant” signs embedded in concrete.

This intersection mapped below is nearby; I drove over there recently to see if or how it is marked. Not sure whether the sign had been stolen or maybe the Dept. of Works gave up years ago, but there is no sign at this intersection:
