When Ukraine joined the Non-Proliferation Treaty and agreed to nuclear disarmament in 1994 it was a good thing for the planet in general but probably a bad thing for the Ukraine in terms of deterring Russia from doing exactly what they are doing right now.
So yeah, I don’t see Ukraine wanting to go even further down that road given how it worked out for them last time.
