Russia reveals that it "was in contact" with Trump's campaign during race

That’s why my shelter already has stickers about “Well, I didn’t vote for him!”

Never go wrong with the classics.

I hear some russians will work for church tattoos.

Confusion, concern and despair seem to be dampening my righteous indignation too.

They can’t. The “Kuznetsov” is a floating piece of shit that’s more likely to sink of it’s own accord–certainly you’re aware of it’s constant tugboat escorts?–so that pathetic show of force wasn’t exactly what it was intended to be. And their economy is in the tank:

They might get out to play with China, warily no doubt, but they strike me as a regional power with vestiges of historical superpowerdom (only b/c of their military assets).

When so the electors actually vote? Because it seems like noise such as this could cause a few rogue electors. Or, at least, so i can dream.

I believe the term is полезные дураки or “Useful fool”.

Should we start learning Russian now?

If you start a sensitive government job I’m pretty sure they want to know in advance what kinds of contact you have with foreign nations.

Stop that right now! We will have no ironic reverse smugness here!

That’s my secret. I’m always smug.

How do you say “Make America Great Again”

I want to sell it on hats.

Indeed, for the rest of the world, this is “same as it ever was.”

It is regained through a society based upon evidence. Expertise is great, but anybody who supposes that trust in experts absolves them from doing their own homework is gullible. Science is incompatible with politics because the former is based upon methods for avoiding bias, while the later is based upon exploiting bias.

It might be if it didn’t look like that deal comes with war all over the rest of the planet and no qualms about using nuclear weapons.

I wonder how many new signups it will take to guarantee its survival.

Never mind–I know there isn’t a number big enough.

That’s all wonderful, but when the average American is told that their leadership is pursuing an agreement with Iran to stop their development of same, the average American doesn’t have the time, energy, or resources to go and check out what such a deal might mean, or how such a deal might be put together. My point being that trump’s ascension is the death of the informed American. Maybe you thought they had a clue before? HA!! Yeah. Good luck with that.

That’s the whole game of being a hierarchical society - they are not supposed to. Which is antithetical to democracy, unless democracy is purely symbolic. That’s the real reason for jobs and chasing money - it is a life-consuming ritual which prevents the average person from being involved in the mechanics of society, except as a resource. All while people demand and compete to allow themselves to be exploited.

No, it is that politics itself is mostly incompatible with reason and human survival at an ecological level. And if humans fail to survive at an ecological level, their individual self interests won’t amount to anything. The world is too complex to agree to let the biggest monkey run it.

Then be informed and cease to be an “American”. What if they had a country and nobody came?

Right. I’m paddling out 200 miles to international waters so I can be free.

Which do you think does more to counter an ignoramus US? Leaving it, or starting something new within its borders? The former solidifies its hegemony and control, while the latter defies it.

This is of course risky - but so is paddling 200 miles, or doing nothing.
