Learning how to do tricks on a skateboard involves failing to do tricks over and over again. Skateboarders are people who persevere. If you quit when things get hard then you’re not a skateboarder.

“things got a little out of hand” is a shit way to describe riot cops being “tough on crime” by bashing, prosecuting and surveilling dozens and dozens of teenagers on behalf of a showboat mayor and moneyed interests who want the city to themselves.
