If this pans out it’s even more evidence that the FDA was probably wrong to approve the drug aducanumab without requiring any evidence that it actually helps improve cognitive function or slow its decline. That drug was controversially approved solely based on evidence that it reduces amyloid plaques, which was never shown to be the actual cause of Alzheimer’s in the first place.
