“Hey there, Bob, can you help a brother out?”
“Why sure, Joe. Just a moment.”
“Hey there, Bob, can you help a brother out?”
“Why sure, Joe. Just a moment.”
Wow. Y’all are bonkers.
Probably because Crumb is considered a ground breaking artists of the counterculture in a way that Adams wasn’t?
Is “the talk” an American thing? I only ever see it on US TV shows and the like, but have never heard of it actually happening on the far side of the globe, nor in any other country.
There’s still an unfortunate puritan streak to US culture.
Better than shooting up the place.
The real challenge is not “access to sex”, but rather, to be the living embodiment of sexuality itself. My cells are the universe fucking.
I think the point is that you turn on the TV, and yes, you see mostly adult white men (and to a lesser extent men of color) doing stuff.
That stuff includes getting beaten, shot and blown up.
It’s not exactly wrong, either. Men of all colors are more likely to be involved in physical assault, either as perpetrator or victim. (Assuming the numbers are to be taken at face value)
But don’t get me wrong. The MRA folks who use those numbers to say, “Men are the real victims here!” deserve plenty of side-eye at minimum. But, I think it’s a thought that bears consideration. In pop culture men’s lives are not worth as much as women’s lives (particularly pregnant women). (“The Expendables” is an amazing title for a movie where hundreds of nameless men are gunned down to save the only female in the movie whose most valuable trait seems to be “pretty hot, only woman present”)
But somehow those expendable men, they are more deserving of respect.
Someone once told me that they did not suffer from stress, but were aware they were a ‘carrier’.
Like it was virulent typhoid, their attitude was not theirs to control as far as they had noticed.
But let me tell you one thing. His daughter was an even bigger colostomy bag, and knew it, so it’s really not sex based in my experience.
If I pay extra, can I watch a version of The Expendables where the men lactate at the end of the movie?
I’d say an important distinction is that the average man’s life is very expendable to a violent man wanting to screw a woman. Once that woman has rejected him, the value of her life goes down significantly.
I think this is where “not all men” can be relevant. Quite a lot of men would much rather live in a world where they and others are safe, rather than being the expendable obstacles in the way of some jerk, or that jerk’s tools for personal gain. Violent people can cause a lot more damage than they’re worth.
Am I mistaken that under the righat circumstances that men can lactate?
I thought I read that somewhere…
In any case, if you would like to see that alternate ending, I would plead your case with the anonymous Internet savants.
Shit, I would watch it.
Men are physically capable of lactation. But it’s usually due to a medical emergency. Particularly breast cancer, or pituitary disorder.
I’d heard anecdotally about some cases.
But “teh wiki” does not confirm any consistency of the conditions.
How great would it be if our species could adapt fathers to maternal functions in a pinch?
Answer: like, really great.
It says here that regular nipple stimulation and pumping for about 2 months can get men lactating without requiring exogenous drugs. Personally, I’m not too into my nipples. They’re kinda duds.
Milk duds? XD
I… I… have mixed feelings about this
(was ed by Scott Adams)
That’s gotta be a weird one for you. Like if a warlord phoned up and asked whether Amoxicillin or Doxycillin is best for treating a bullet wound.
I’ve heard a number of stories of this happening. Honestly, I thought about trying it myself, both because I wanted to see if it was just an urban myth and because I consider being able to use your own body to feed babies to be a pretty cool superpower.
(And also because deciding to breastfeed normally means that the mother has to do all the work. Apparently though, it would have been “weird”.)
An alternate hypothesis is that porn can make guys believe that everybody has easy access to sex - except themselves. And get angry at “sluts” and the world that deprive them.
I wouldn’t be surprised if both hypotheses have some truth to them. That the porn watching population is less likely to commit violence - but that some members of that population are more likely.
