The authors correctly point out that there is always a bit of a spike in migrants this time of year (because the desert near the border gets too hot in high summer), but the fact is the numbers of migrants is higher now than in previous years at this time (although it could be explained by people who wanted to migrate in 2020 delaying it until this year - 2020 is line at the bottom).

Not exactly. I suspect difficulty getting Xanax is more spillover from the response to the opioid epidemic having a large portion ‘Do things That Show We’re Serious’ mixed into the actual medical concerns.
