wonder why “Looney Tunes” and “Merrie Melodies” were more well known when we were kids, even though “Silly Symphonies” was first

Probably because both of those were on TV way more as kids. I don’t think I had heard of Silly Symphonies until I was an adult.
I don’t think I have seen “Merry Melodies” used for a few decades, but “Looney Tunes” I believe is still in use today and definitely still making content when I was a kid in the 80s and 90s.
Just skimming wikipedia, Silly Syphonies hasn’t had new content since the late 50s.
