Snowden v. Zimmerman

When comparing CNN, HLN, and MSNBC’s non-stop coverage of Zimmerman to that of the Snowden affair, in the context of growing public support for Edward Snowden, the dissonance is astounding.

How close are we to a tipping point where public sentiment trounces forces like Feinstein and Ban Ki-moon denouncing Snowden, the US and EU embracing austerity measures, and mainstream media coverage of mostly asinine stories like Zimmerman?

Zimmerman’s story isn’t “asinine.” It’s proof that Americans still don’t live in the “post-racial” society that most white Americans think they do.
