Their eyes blink and their mouth opens and closes slightly. Not exactly “animated”, but then again that’s what they do in a lot of anime closeups so maybe it works. Ha.

Yeah, it’s definitely done on the cheap.
It’s much easier to get better results using something like FaceRig or the wide variety of virtual youtuber programs out these days.
