Five Eyes nations start new club for competition regulators and paint target on digital giants
The nations of the five eyes alliance – Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK and the USA – have started a new club that will see their respective competition agencies “share intelligence, case theories and investigative techniques to better coordinate investigations across international borders”.
The new club operates has the roll-off-the-tongue name “Multilateral Mutual Assistance and Cooperation Framework for Competition Authorities” but will go by “MMAC”.
This works well until Bill Haydon is given bad intelligence to share with the cousins!

The US Air Force has successfully tested an autonomous AI system on one of its aging Lockheed U-2 (aka “Dragon Lady”) reconnaissance aircraft.
The aircraft lifted off on Tuesday from Beale Air Force Base in California with the AI, dubbed ARTUµ because who doesn’t like a Star Wars reference, solely controlling the U-2’s radar sensors and tactical navigation systems. The Air Force noted that ARTUµ had no access to weapons or flight control systems.

It’s good when plots to kill people are thwarted - on the other hand, after Navalny’s phonecall, the Russian TLAs are in the market for some good publicity.
