Low-bid win?
the scriptwriter portion of my brain really wanted to see more out of that net. I’m not saying it should have really caught anyone, but like an Indy-hat moment.
I was under the impression that it always sucks to be goalie, and that’s why they’re all wierd.
No one was hurt.
Phew! Good thing I read that before I put the popcorn on.
Definitely before.
I was watching a programme on the britannia bridge which was constructed for the first trains to cross the menai straights they used box section being the strongest but they had no way to assemble at the required level each section was 400 tons which is a lot to raise to some 200 feet

wondering what actually triggered the mad rush to the doors
According to one news article that I read, a warning by an alert referee is credited for getting the boys off of the court with only a couple minor injuries.
I wondered if one wall collapsed under the load, putting asymmetric loads on the roof structure.
but Fris said the snow could not have caused the collapse.
Yeah, pretty sure when they analyze the collapse, an aggravating factor will be: the snow.
This might be of interest. It’s floor level video of the incident, with mayhem in the middle while they escape, but then overhead views, presumable from drone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2KJl0fWY4M
Edit: Oops, autoplayed two vids. Here’s the one with the drone view: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NYtbfV80j7E
Like a herd of nimble gazelles.
maybe there’s a special whistle that signals evacuate.
That’s what I was going to say. After the blizzard in January 1979, Chicago-area factories were paying $18/hour cash (and higher) at a time when minimum wage had JUST bumped up to $2.90/hour, just to get their flat roofs shoveled ASAP before the cycle of warmer air & sun during the day followed by re-freezing at night caused massive cave-ins.
HEY! I personally know two ice hockey goalies, and they’re both really interesting teens. #notallhockeygoalies
I wanted the last few seconds to be laser fire, then Darth Vader striding in from the right.
That or Steve Urkel .
Was the re-freezing thought to be likely to cause ice-jacking? Ice jacking at a bolted joint brought down a ski-lift tower at Whistler a few years ago.
You don’t spend time with them in a locker room. Trust me, they’re weird.
Weight alone was enough of a concern that I never heard anyone talk about other issues. Engineers might have, but not newscasters or building managers looking for help.
Thawing and re-freezing doesn’t add to the weight though, does it?
