Well yeah, I mean clearly when his legs vanished, his boots fell off and got shuffled out of the way by his well meaning family, who are hiding them to prevent embarrassment.

He’s not levitating, duh! He’s clearly emerging from the water, with the lower half of his body transparent, as is the norm for his sort of water spirit. (Also his arms are incredibly long, but foreshortening makes it look like he’s next to the two people in front.) Sheesh! I despair for people’s critical thinking skills, sometimes!
