I really feel like “old turtle” would have been a better fit for Mitch, tbh. Aside from the actual evil he does to the world, he gives me strong Dana Carvey as turtle vibes.

I read a wonderful old biography of the great pacer Dan Patch.
We were at an estate sale, and I also picked out a lovely horse pin. Mom got a terrific small wooden sculpture from Africa. It looks like a quite charming lion, until you notice a man’s head is sticking out of his mouth
His world record for the mile stood for 50 years.
Not at all bad for a weedy colt with crooked hindlegs, who’d needed help to nurse from his mama.
