In my opinion a far more positive critic of the arts than Clement Greenberg, and far more warmly remembered.
I admit I had to look him up. Reich-Ranicki is remembered for his work on literature - a field which is very much dear to the German-speaking parts of Europe, more so than any other art form. It’s easier to be remembered fondly.
How about the ones that end in Whatever?
The Way I See It from MoMA & the BBC is fun if you like hearing diverse people explain their subjective opinion on art, with beautiful closeups on the art pieces.
My favorite so far is the John Waters one.
