Hmm. This sounds like a lot of focus on a symptom instead of a cause. The causes of chronic constipation are surely more likely causes of cognitive decline than is constipation itself.

But then, I suppose it’s also a convenient and obvious marker, for patients especially, of the potential for the future greater likelihood of cognitive decline.
