Just for the record, the guy in the picture is one of the statues at the Neanderthal Museum.
The first time I visited, I walked right past it.

The link won’t inbox, but the museum is really worth a visit.

In-vitro brain technology should be fantastic for helping to understand the role of Broca’s area in the need to scream in absence of a mouth. A great day for science!

Holy crap! I’d never heard of this comic, and it’s hilarious! Thanks!

Reminds me of a project a while back to DNA profile various rock legends to see why they survived. The best quote, natch, came from Ozzy Osbourne in discovering he had Neanderthal DNA: “If those ugly f**kers could get laid then there’s hope for all of us!” Class act, as ever.

Damn those boffins.

Do they really want ancient, bouncy, brain monsters? Because this is how you get ancient, bouncy, brain monsters. I mean, probably.

The thing that wouldn't die

He’s awfully right-brained for a scientist.

You know owe Harlan Ellison a substantial sum of money.

Maybe try quoting Peter Watts in the future, I hear he is cheaper.
